David Tanganelli

 

Brazilian singer, songwriter and harmonica player David Tanganelli has built an international reputation through his distinctive blend of Blues, Soul, R&B, Funk and Swing. An official Hohner Artist, he is recognized for his expressive harmonica playing, soulful vocals and dynamic stage presence, bringing together the tradition of classic Black American music with a contemporary artistic vision.

Born in Birigui, in the state of São Paulo, Brazil, David discovered his passion for music at an early age. Growing up in a musical family, he developed a deep appreciation for Blues and Soul, drawing inspiration from legendary artists such as Stevie Wonder, Little Walter, Toots Thielemans, Ray Charles, Otis Redding and B.B. King. These influences helped shape a unique musical identity that continues to define his work today.

 

David began his professional career in the late 1990s, first performing with the band Blues The Ville before launching his solo career in 2010. Since then, he has appeared at festivals, concert halls, television programs and educational events throughout South America, earning respect for both his musicianship and his engaging live performances.

His discography reflects an artist constantly evolving while remaining faithful to the roots of Blues and Soul music. His releases include Da Vila Para o Blues, Blues It's All Right, Tupiniking, On My Way, UP, and the live album Live at Mr. Jones – Buenos Aires, Argentina. Each project represents a different chapter in a career dedicated to originality, authenticity and musical excellence.

 

Beyond performing, David is deeply committed to music education. Through his educational project Blues na Escola (Blues at School), he has introduced Blues music and the harmonica to students of different ages, promoting cultural exchange and demonstrating the transformative power of music.

 

David is currently preparing the release of his upcoming studio album, HIGHER, produced by Cesar Bottinha. Featuring original compositions, the album explores contemporary Soul, Funk, Blues and R&B while honoring the timeless influence of classic Black American music. Scheduled for release on vinyl and digital platforms, HIGHER represents a new creative chapter in his artistic journey and reflects years of musical growth and artistic refinement.
